South Korea vowed to retaliate if North Korea launches any attack on its territory. This was the statement made by the new President in Seoul as tensions further increased with more rhetoric from Pyongyang and the US deploying stealth fighter planes.
According to Pyongyang, the region is teetering towards nuclear was due to sanctions imposed the United Nations for the nuclear test conducted by North Korea last February. It is also saying that the current US and South Korean military drills have further fueled the current 'state of war' with South Korea as these are considered 'hostile' drills.
Despite such fighting words, there have been no unusual activity detected in the Northern territories to suggest an imminent aggressive attack. According to President Park Guen-hye, who briefed his defense minister and other senior officials, "If there is any provocation against South Korea and its people, there should be a strong response in initial combat without any political considerations."
