Manny and his crew will once again appear in the big screen for Ice Age 5. The story will reportedly pick up where it left off, and most, if not all, of the cast from Ice Age: Continental Drift will reportedly be back for the upcoming film.
Manny, Diego, Sid, and Scrat will have to find their way out of another catastrophe triggered by something that Scrat (Saber-toothed squirrel) did. The story of Ice Age 5 will pick up where the 4th instalment left off.
According to reports, Scrat will be on a beach while Sid can be seen practicing his lines, and because of all the ruckus going on around him, Diego gets irritated. Manny who is trying to get some sleep later shouts "Quiet!" In the following events, the gang hears a crack that reportedly seem like something that was caused by Scrat, and causes a drift.
Since the story in Ice Age 5 will pick up where "Continental Drift" left off, many speculate that the cast from the previous instalment will be back to reprise their roles. The cast reportedly includes, Ray Romano as Manny the Mammoth's voice, John Lequizamo as Sid, Denis Leary as Diego, and Chris Wedge as Scrat. Other members of the cast are Queen Latifah, Aziz Ansari, Joy Behar, Peter Dinklage, Nick Frost, Josh Gad, Keke Palmer, Josh Peck, Simon Pegg, Seann William Scott, Patrick Stewart, Wanda Sykes, Alan Tudyk, and Rebel Wilson.
Aside from them, Ice Age: Continental Drift also included Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Jennifer Lopez.
Ice Age is reportedly the 11th highest grossing franchise, and 2nd highest grossing animated franchise in the world. Ice Age 5 is the last instalment of the successful franchise. It will be directed by Mike Thurmeier and Galen T. Chu. It will soon hit theaters in July 15, 2016.
