Absolute Software Corp. made announcement that Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. will be using its software capable of tracking stolen mobile devices in Galaxy products.
Absolute had been hoping that the partnership with Samsung would attract more companies who want to use their tracking software in making their mobile devices and laptops more secure.
Under the agreement, the anti-theft and data-protection software will be embedded by Samsung in the core software of mobile devices running in its Galaxy platform, Absolute chief executive John Livingston told Reuters.
The deals marks the first time that the persitence technology of Vancouver-based firm will be used in smartphones.
The software allows users to maintain a connection with their devices regards of location or users.
