Finally we have updates on when exactly they are going to release the movie. It is now confirmed that Pacific Rim 2 will hit the big theater on April 7, 2017. The good news is we hear some updates from the del Toro about what to expect from the film.
An interview posted at Crossmap, Guillermo del Toro said that they are still three years away before the completion of the movie and if he spoils something, it's him being silly. He said he has no plan of spoiling his viewers but he suggested that the ending of the second movie would show that the two Pacific Rim movies could stand on its own.
They assure its audience that they created a very different plot for the Pacific Rim 2 so that fans will not think that it's just a repetition of the first one. But despite the differences, del Toro still hopes that they will be able to deliver the same explosion and spectacle.
What's more exciting about the film is that Pacific Rim 2 will not just be set in Toronto but will be shot around the world. How cool would that be, seeing different views from different places. They give emphasis that we will be seeing a different movie so that fans will not get bored.
Aside from change of location, del Toro said that Pacific Rim 2's action scene would not be the same from the first movie. He added that there would be night and day battles.
Another revelation from the great director, that the Pacific Rim 2 will be set a few years after the ending of Pacific Rim. It will be jumping into a scene where the world is free from Kaiju and it will show more of what happen to Jaeger technology when Kaiju is not a threat. There will be more scene of what happened to the world after everything.
Of course there will be new cast added to the previous list of characters. By this time, de Toro will work hard on making the sequel as "multicultural and humanistic" as he could. There will be a mixed of characters from different races, gender and nationality.
But rumors spread that Charlie Hunnam who played the role of Raleigh Becket will not be coming back to perform his role for Pacific Rim 2.
It seems like we will be expecting more amazing scene for this upcoming Pacific Rim 2 by Guillermo del Toro. But it may take us more time before we can finally watch it in the big theater.
