"Outlander" Season 2 will see the return of Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser and Caitriona Balfe as Claire Randall. The upcoming season of the Starz series will be taken from Diana Gabaldon's second book, "Dragonfly in Amber," which is set in France as Jamie and Claire try to stop the Battle of Culloden from taking place. Showrunner Ron Moore admits that adapting the second book is "more complex."

"Outlander" recently wrapped up its first season with a bang in the episode titled, "To Ransom A Man's Soul." The cast and crew of the time traveler series are already back on set to film scenes for Season 2, as the story begins to shift and take place in a new setting.
Diana Gabaldon's book number two, "Dragonfly in Amber" is set in Paris and will see the continuation of the story of Jamie and Claire, as they move on from the events that took place at Wentworth Prison. The story will also be gearing towards a political direction, as they try to stop the Battle of Culloden from happening.
Showrunner Ron Moore admitted that translating Gabaldon's second book was harder and more complicated that it was in her first book.
"The Paris section [of 'Dragonfly in Amber'], the plot is not as clean and simple as the plot was in Book 1. They're involved in something that's more complex Diana shifted points of view, herself, in Book 2," Moore said.
Meanwhile, Laurence Dobiesz has been recently added to the cast of "Outlander" Season 2 as Black Jack's brother, Alex Randall, TV Line reported.
While Black Jack (Tobias Menzies) is known to be the most ruthless villain in the Starz series, his brother, Alex, will have a completely different personality. The outlet cited that Alex is described as someone with a "gentle, loving and kind" personality.
Dobiesz will be joining other new faces in the second season of "Outlander," including Margaux Chatelier (Jamie's former love interest), Robert Cavanah (Jared Fraser), Stanley Weber (Le Comte St. Germain), Rosie Day (Mary Hawkins) and Andrew Gower (Bonnie Prince Charlie).
