Starcraft 2 ‘Whispers Of Oblivion’ Unveiled During E3 2015, Reveals Free 3 Missions, Features Mysterious Protoss As Playable Heroes

As the much awaited final installment Legacy of the Void is in the works, Blizzard Entertainment announces the 'Whispers of Oblivion', 3 new missions for StarCraft 2. 'Whispers of Oblivion' is the prologue for the Legacy of the Void. 'Whispers of Oblivion' is totally free even for those who did not purchase StarCraft 2 but those who will pre-order Legacy of the Void will get early access of the prologue in July.

During the PC Gaming Show at E3, Dustin Browder, game director for StarCraft 2 and Chris Sigaty of Blizzard Entertainment announced Whisper of Oblivion, special 3 prologue missions for StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void. In these three missions, Blizzard says: "In Whispers of Oblivion, players will join Zeratul for the first time since Wings of Liberty to unravel the final piece of the Xel'naga prophecy".

Blizzard revealed the cinematic trailer during the PC Gaming Show. The three missions will serve as a bridge to the storyline between the Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void.

PC Gamers reports that game character Zeratul, along with other heroes will finally get the chance to shine in this expansion as he leaves the shadows. In StarCraft 2: Heart of Swarm the Protoss campaign focused on Zeratul, who sees an opportunity to seize their planet back. The expansion may also wrap up Kerrigan and Raynor's stories.

Blizzard guarantees that 'Whispers of Oblivion' is absolutely free to all players - even to those who do not own Heart of Swarm or Legacy of the Void. However, those who will pre-purchase the Legacy of the Void will get the Early Access beta in July. The studio has Blizzard reveals there are two teams working on the expansion: one for the story campaign and the other on focused on competitive play.
