North Korea has formally informed embassies located in the capital to submit plans for staff repatriation should a war breakout by April 10. This was confirmed by British authorities as the message is another way to heighten tensions with the war of words putting tensions at an all time high in the Korean peninsula.
Reports coming from China's Xinhua News Agency and the Foreign Ministry of Russia say that North Korea has suggested to embassies should close because of the risk of war escalating.
The request for repatriation plans came at a time when the US military builds up in South Korea after weeks of warnings from Pyongyang of inevitable war. The war of attrition stems from the UN sanctions imposed for an underground nuclear test and the viewed hostile military exercises in South Korea.
Under the Vienna Convention governing diplomatic missions, the host governments are required to look after the repatriation of embassy staff when conflict breaks out.
