July 18, 2015, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a digital imaging provider, bared their hottest compact camera in addition to its G-series, the Canon PowerShot G3 X which is suitable for photographers and film shooters having equivalent variety with DSLR cameras. Moreover, Canon is presenting its StarMode feature that can magnificently capture stars at night.

Great for photographers considering features from a DSLR and excellence in a compact camera, this is perhaps worth taking a look at. Canon has got a new camera to its PowerShot squad with the PowerShot G3 X for $999.99, noted in Digital Photography Review.

The PowerShot G3 X attributes a 1-inch CMOS 20.2MP sensor with 25x optical zoom lens. PowerShot G3 X is also dust proof and water resistant, which is comparable to the EOS 70D. Thus, this will make it a perfect camera for an outdoor trip. For those who want wireless connectivity, a built-in WiFi and NFC are on-board, letting the user to hook up to his iOS or Android devices.

The newest PowerShot sports a slanting LCD display and a flash that users can essentially alter to help recoil the flash to shoot photos that are not so stark in lighting. It is run by Canon's DIGIC 6 image processor to enable high-resolution which support low lighting environments and low-noise photographs up to ISO 12800 as exhibited in DIY Photography.

Added remarks that will fascinate film shooters are the f/2.8-5.6 aperture scale, five-axis Intelligent Image Stabilization and 31 autofocus junctures. One good point that Canon considered is an innovative feature called Star Mode that has been assimilated in G3X to seize stunning videos and images of a 'starry night' sky in a marvelous representation. "The 'Star Trails' mode turns star movement into a luminous still image, while the 'Star Time-Lapse Movie' mode makes beautiful video clips that show the movement of the stars against a static background," described on Canon website.

To boost the filming capability, you may include Canon Electronic Viewfinder EVF-DC1, Canon EX-Series Speedlite system, and Remote Switch RS-60 E3. The Canon PowerShot G3 X is on sale in July.
