Prototype and Prototype 2 could be coming to the Playstation 4 as remastered games

Both the original Prototype game as well as Prototype 2 could soon be coming to the Playstation 4 if the latest rumors are to be believed.

Trophies for Prototype 2 were the first ones to appear online on the Playstation 4 database, according to Push Square. Trophies for the original game then found their way to the database not long after that.

Trophies for specific games suddenly appearing on the Playstation 4 database typically occur because there is something in the works. An incident such as the one concerning both Prototype and Prototype usually isn't just another accident.

Geeksnack also said that Activision choosing to release remastered versions of the two games is hardly a surprise. Remastered games are now some of the most popular releases these days, and studios love them as well because it takes significantly less time and effort to remaster a game than it is to make an entirely new one.

Despite the seemingly smart business move to remaster the Prototype games, the decision, if proven true, is still somewhat of a surprise considering how poorly received the titles were when they were first released.

Prototype certainly falls into the category of a lesser known franchise for Activision, and perhaps the company could have spent their resources a different way and chosen to either just make a new game or pick a different one for remastering purposes.

Gamers who have yet to play either of the two Prototype games may want to steer clear of the leaked trophies since some of them do contain spoilers pertaining to the respective stories.

For their part, both Activision and Radical Entertainment have yet to address the apparent leak and whether they do have plans to release remastered versions of the games, according to Playstation Lifestyle.

If recent history is any indicator, it still seems like a safe bet to assume both games are coming to the Playstation 4 sooner rather than later.
