Big and complicated---this is how the live action movie adaptation of "Beauty and the Beast" will be, as described by its director Bill Condon. The film's production is now ongoing in the United Kingdom.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Speaking to Den of Geek, Bill Condon said that the production of "Beauty and the Beast" live action movie has been great so far. He said the upcoming film is "big, complicated but very fun." When asked about any plans after the movie, Condon said he sees "Beauty and the Beast" as his future. They have two years to finish the film which is a mixture of live scenes and animations. A lot will be done in the post production which involves computer editing and incorporating cartoons.
The director shares that the household and the rest of the creatures in the movie will make up the animated part. Condon says they are making sure that they will be able to give what viewers are expecting, taking note of the movie's importance to people especially those who grew up watching the 1991 animation or the various plays being staged in theatres up until now. Condon also added that the they are expanding the old characters into something new.
"We're expanding on things and bringing it into a third dimension means that characters can't behave exactly in the same way. You know, Gaston and LeFou can't be literally as cartoonish as there were in the movie," Condon explains.
PRODUCTION ON THE GO
"Beauty and the Beast" is currently being filmed in the UK. Josh Gad excitedly posted a picture on Instagram of him and co-star and six-time Tony award winner Audra Mcdonald while on the set of the said musical movie on Friday.
Meanwhile, Emma Watson, who plays Belle, is also in production at present. Franchise Herald says the actress was spotted with friends in between takes at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art in Edinburgh, Scotland in the early part of June.
"Beauty and the Beast" live action movie will surely bring nostalgia plus surprises to viewers on March 17, 2017.
