Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim's Ora TV has purchased television production company Stick Figure Productions. The purpose of the acquisition is to increase the content of the fledgeling online digital television network.
The financial terms and conditions of the deal were not disclosed. Ora.TV was launched back in July 2012. It is now home to Larry King's new talk show, "Larry King Now." The show can be viewed through Ora.TV or through Hulu, the online video streaming service.
Stick Figure Productions is based out of New York and is best known for its documentary and reality based television shows. Most of its shows have been acquired by networks such as HBO, ESPN and PBS.
Hulu is co-owned by both News Corp and Walt Disney and its current power struggle may also affect the service delivery of Ora.TV. Ora.TV for its part is backed by Latin America's largest phone company, America Movil. The company is controlled by Carlos Slim.
