Gambit News: Channing Tatum learning card throwing for titular role; Reid Carolin reveals film script got him to go on board

By

It seems like Channing Tatum is dedicated to nail his titular role as Gambit by practising the famous mutant's tricks while Reid Carolin has revealed that the movie's script was one of the factors that got him to join the crew.

Remy LeBeau also known as Gambit has been famous for a lot of things including his Cajun accent and his card throwing tricks which makes him a standout. Well, it appears Channing Tatum who will be playing the role for the upcoming film has been trying his best to learn the famous mutant's tricks. Gambit's producer Reid Carolin revealed that Tatum has been working hard to learn,

"[Hearing the accent] probably is a spoiler but you should ask him. I don't think he has it yet. Last night we were with my friend who I went to college with, this guy David Kwong who is an incredible magician and he was teaching Chan how to throw cards and do slight of hand and all that, so we're producing that and I'm mostly just writing stuff, both things are female-driven but they're totally different kinds of stories." he said.

Aside from the tricks, the upcoming film is also reportedly worth anticipating as Carolin revealed that the script was one of the things that impressed him, "Yeah, that we'll shoot that in the fall, we'll probably start that in late October/November in New Orleans. Rupert Wyatt is our director, he's pretty cool. I think the script is really good. To be honest, I don't watch big movies for pleasure a lot, but this script convinced me that we should be making this movie, so..." Carolin said.

Although it would've been great if Tatum's Gambit was to appear in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse, anticipating Tatum's Cajun accent and card tricks in his standalone films are things that also make the film worth anticipating. Plus, trusting Carolin's word about the script also seems to be an assurance that this film is really heading in the right direction.

Gambit is to be directed by Rupert Wyatt, and written by Chris Claremont and Joshua Zeturner. It is set to hit theaters in October 07, 2016.
