To stir up the excitement of the fans for the long awaited reboot of the Marvel superhero flick "Fantastic Four", 20th Century Fox has recently released a new TV spot, featuring a few new glimpses from the August 7 premiere.
The origin of Fox's forthcoming reboot is said to be ultimately inspired from the the "Ultimate Fantastic Four" comics which first arc was penned by Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Millar with Joe Kubert. According to Coming Soon, the new "Fantastic Four" movie provides a modern re-imagining of Marvel's original and longest-running team of supers. It follows four young adults who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe where their physical form were tweaked. This alteration overturned their lives irrevocably which causes them to learn to control their new abilities and work together to protect the planet from a former friend-turned-enemy.
It is noted that the first two films of the superhero flick, 2005's "Fantastic Four" and its 2007 sequel "Fantastic 4: Rise Of The Silver Surfer", starred Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Michael Chiklis, and Chris Evans as the titular team. However, Fox's new version will feature the new faces of the four supers. "Fantastic Four" will star Miles Teller ("Whiplash", "Spectacular Now") as Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Kate Mara ("House of Cards", "Transcendence") as Sue Storm (The Invisible Woman), Michael B. Jordan ("Fruitvale Station", "Chronicle") as Johnny Storm (The Human Torch) and The Adventures of Tintin's Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm (The Thing).
As per Superhero Hype's report, Toby Kebbell ("Dawn of the Planet of the Apes'") will also appear in the movie as Doctor Doom alongside Reg E. Cathey ("The Wire") as as Dr. Franklin Storm and Tim Blake Nelson ("O Brother, Where Art Thou?") as Harvey Elder, aka The Mole Man.
Fox's upcoming "Fantastic Four" is helmed by "Chronicle" director Josh Trank, based on a screenplay penned by Simon Kinberg ("X-Men: Days of Future Past"), who is also a producer on the film. The new film opens August 7 this year.
