"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 will not be returning until this October but a lot of fans of the show are being treated with spoilers such as what to expect this coming season. It has been reported that a same-sex couple will be introduced and the romance between Stefan and Caroline will be brewing.
According to MTV, "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 without Nina Dobrev playing the role of Elena has given way to other couples to shine. The showrunners were determined to make the show more interesting without the long-standing leading lady of the show. According to the report, a pair of female lovers named Nora and Mary Louise will be coming in and will be introduced as the first ever same-sex couple in the show.
The pair is reportedly vampires who have been living and loving each other in secret for almost a century now. Mary Louise is said to be the darling between the two while Nora is a bit more unaffectionate but they make a great team. Another female vampire will be seen in the show and her name is Valerie but it has not been reported what her role will be in the upcoming season of the CW show.
Meanwhile, Latinos Post shared that "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 will also be showing Stefan and Caroline's budding romance. Without Elena in the picture, being the key element in the love triangle among her, Stefan, and Damon, the producers wanted to move on from that chapter and give Stefan a new story to be part of. At the end of Season 6, Caroline pitied herself asking why nobody ever picks her and so this is a great time for Stefan to show his love for her.
As for Ian Somerhalder, who plays the role of Damon, he again talked about having a much different season without Dobrev playing the role of Elena. He shared with Melty, "We're actually very excited about telling this story. Mystic Falls without Elena Gilbert is going to be very different."
