'Halt And Catch Fire' Season 2 Episode 5 Recap: 'Infiltrator' Shows Joe Is Back, Gordon Clark Diagnosed With Brain Damage

By

Season 2 Episode 5 of "Halt and Catch Fire" entitled "Infiltrator" just proves that when it rains it pours as Gordon Clark's brain damage diagnosis has been revealed. Also, Joe will be coming back so there's that as one of the good news from the already piling problems that the characters are facing for the show's second season.

Gordon Clark has been diagnosed with chronic toxic encephalopathy, a result of being exposed to toxins for years, and there is no known cure as of the moment so it will be expected that his case will worsen as it progresses, Vulture reported. What is all the more crushing is that Gordon does not have anyone to tell about his situation and so he has to face his pain alone.

The publication reported that aside from Gordon, Donna is also experiencing a difficult situation as she has kept her pregnancy a secret on par with Gordon's brain injury. It remains unknown if Donna will be telling her husband Gordon about the situation and if the latter will also talk to his wife about his condition.

As for Joe, he already appeared in "Halt And Catch Fire" Season 2 episode 5 and Cameron is still very haunted with the mess he did in the past season as she feels that he is responsible for the betrayal she has suffered from. Joe wants to offer help to Cameron but the latter does not want any help from anyone as the former already left her not wanting to trust other people. Joe will also be facing his problems with Mutiny and has to face his computer crisis, A.V. club reported.

In a report by IBTimes, Scoot McNairy, the actor who plays the role of Gordon, shared what his role might have felt when he got the news from his diagnosis during the fifth episode of season 2 entitled "Infiltration." The publication reported that McNairy said Gordo might have been in denial for a while and that he has convinced himself of being able to fix his situation.

Do you think Gordon should tell Donna about his situation? Do you feel that Cameron should let go of the past and just move on from Joe's betrayal? Let us know in the comments below!
