A leading global provider of child care sponsored by employers has purchased kidsunlimited for the amount of GBP 45 million. Bright Horizons Family Solutions purchased the UK's biggest nursery care providers.
The acquisition provides the exit for kidsunlimited's private equity investor LDC who proposed in 2008 a secondary buyout of the business.
Bright Horizons is listed with the New York Stock Exchange is in the business of providing not just child care but early education together with other support services that assist employers and employees alike to answer the balance between work and home life. The services include a center based full service child care program with dependent care back ups as well as educational advisory services to more than 850 companies across North America, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Netherlands and in India.
The acquisition brings together the number of centers operated by Bright Horizons to 203 with a capacity to serve 15,500 children for companies that are included in the Fortune 500 list.
