"The Whispers" is still in its first season but the new ABC show is reportedly in danger of being cancelled for the second season as reports have surfaced that the show has been struggling to get audiences. Also, there is a shortage in the casting options for the roles of the said show.
"The Whispers" is a show about children in Washington, D.C. talking and playing with their imaginary friends. However, the games that they play with their imaginary friends turn out to be dangerous and the FBI Child specialist named Claire Bennigan, played by Lily Rabe, investigates the incidents, TV Series Finale reported.
Aside from Rabe, other stars of the show include Barry Sloane, Derek Webster, Kristen Connolly, Kyle Harrison Breitkopf, Kylie Rogers, and Milo Ventimiglia. The cast's contract options already expired last June and ABC wanted to get a two-week extension but the cast was not happy regarding the show. According to the publication, Rabe and some of the cast members did not like the fact that the series was relocated to Vancouver as the pilot episode was shot in Los Angeles last May.
In a report by Realty Today, if "The Whispers" Season 2 will be happening and pushed through, not all the cast members will be asked to be with the show for the upcoming episodes. Also, the producers of the show still have not looked for a replacement of Rabe who no longer wants to come back for the renewal of the ABC series.
Meanwhile, it has been reported by Franchise Herald that "The Whispers" Season 1 will be having an "amazing conclusion" as per the announcement of the showrunner Zack Estrin. Season 1 has aired only five episodes and it still has eight more episodes before the season comes to an end. Estrin promised that the series will be satisfying and the viewers should not lose faith in the ABC show.
"The Whispers" airs every Monday at 10 P.M. on ABC. Do you think the show should have a second season?
