Titanfall 2 Confirmed by EA, Respawn Entertainment CEO: Sequel's Multiplatform Release Window Set in Fiscal 2017

By

Titanfall 2 did not make a revelation in the Electronic Entertainment Expo last month, mostly because EA was focusing on showing off Star Wars: Battlefront. Nonetheless, it has already been confirmed by the developer's CEO that a sequel is really in the works. The catch, though, is that the release date may still be as far as sometime in 2017. This will, consequently, make gameplay updates very useful so fans are on the loop.

Those who were expecting Titanfall 2 to be revealed in the E3 2015 couldn't help being disappointed when EA skipped the title. Nonetheless, the IP will definitely be getting a sequel as the CEO of Respawn Entertainment, Vince Zampella, gave some reassurance to gamers.

In the announcement on IGN, he said, "I guess EA announced a sequel, so I could play coy and pretend I don't know anything about it, or... yeah. So we're working on a sequel. No official name yet, but we're working on that. That's the main focus but we're starting up a second team and doing some smaller stuff too. Small, exploratory, taking it slow! It'll be multiplatform."

While this may be in part, comforting, it is also serves as a tease for a certain fraction. This is because Blake Jorgensen, the Chief Financial Officer of EA, talked about the release fall for Titanfall 2 during the investor call. He said that people should assume that the launch for the sequel would be in the fiscal year or 2017, as opposed to 2016.

With all this in mind, there is still a lot to uncover about Titanfall 2. It still presents with a wide release window, being from April 1, 2016 all the way to March 31, 2017. At the same time, it will support multiple platforms, which are usually verging on the PlayStation, the Xbox, as well as the PC. Players looking forward to this should just be patient and keep on coming back for more news.
