Homeland Season 5 will be premiering in a few months as the fall season is nearing. A lot of change will blow away fans as the series takes place in Berlin, where Claire Danes' character will also see a new love interest - an element that the series did not dwell too much on in the past. With the shift in the setting, a new cast will also be welcomed.
Carrie takes on new experiences in Homeland Season 5 as she leaves the CIA and works for a private security firm in Berlin, where the entire season will be shot. In an interview with Daily Star, Mandy Patinkin, who portrays Saul Berenson, the CIA Director, comments, "We're shooting in Berlin for the whole fifth season, and Berlin and its history and its environment is also a character in the show, whereas Cape Town actually doubled for Pakistan and for the US."
Along with a new environment in Germany, Lesli Linka Glatter, the series director, gave a gist on the new plot for Homeland Season 5. According to a recent report, the center will be on "Putin. You know, cyberterrorism. ISIS, of course."
When it comes to the cast, Homeland Season 5 will see the faces of four new stars. The first would be Sebastian Koch, who plays a kind German Samaritan, and also happens to be Carrie's new boss. The next one is Alexander Fehling, whose character is Jonas Happich, and eventual boyfriend of the main character. Apart from the two, Sarah Sokolovic and Miranda Otto will also be part of the show.
Homeland Season 5 will span for another 12 episodes, although the exact premiere date of the Showtime television has yet to be announced. Based on the past seasons, viewers can expect the start to be somewhere within the fall season, specifically within September to October. Fans should keep posted for more announcements in the weeks to come.
