Promotions are plugging in for OnePlus unveiling specs and features to its upcoming OnePlus 2 smartphone. Growing updates are stirring with additional details to the launching event on July 27. Featuring as a Virtual Reality (VR) experience during its launching event, OnePlus 2 boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810v2.1 processor and fingerprint scanner security.
25-year old Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus, confirmed in OnePlus's blog of the world's first product emulating virtual reality.
"A VR launch lets you stand right next to our team and our fans as we unveil our new flagship," Pei announced. "You'll be able to look around as you check out the phone in a new way and maybe even find a few hidden Easter eggs. It's a new way of thinking about a product launch. We aren't talking at you; we are talking with you."
According to Venturebeat, unlike its counterpart for virtual reality such as Google and Oculus Rift, OnePlus designed their own take on VR cardboard headsets. Resurfacing details about the launch was confirmed of the successor for the first "Flagship Killer" to have a 3,300 mAh battery pack indicating almost 10 percent increase from the OnePlus One's 3,100 mAh capacity.
Meanwhile, during OnePlus' participation in Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) session, participants were quick to ask about the new smartphone's battery capacity.
"Although the OnePlus 2 is smaller than the OnePlus One, we've managed to pack almost 10 percent more juice," OnePlus stated.
"The OnePlus 2 will have a whooping 3,300mAh battery! Camera-wise, we have a bunch of things that we believe will set the OnePlus 2 apart, but we'll leave the details for the launch," OnePlus team commented.
New smartphone's camera software was enhanced and prioritized by the Oneplus team. Earlier reports indicate that it will have a 16MP rear and 5MP front snapper.
Speculations that the device will arrive with a heart rate sensor was debunked. OnePlus assessed that it won't be including any heart rate sensor. The fingerprint scanner feature was a confirmed recognition but won't be integrated into the touch screen. Identified instead to have an actual separate physical sensor, the fingerprint scanner has the same features just like Apple and Samsung have in their respective flagships.
PC Advisor reported that the finger print scanner unlock features of OnePlus 2 will be faster than Apple's Touch ID. The frontrunner for OnePlus is expected to have a metal frame or all-metal build, with wooden fingerprint scanner and paneled wood as its back casing.
A2001, A2003, and A2005 are the indicated models for the OnePlus 2 speculated smartphone lineup.
