Springfield Homecare Services Ltd is a unit of Springfield Healthcare Group, which is backed by the Business Growth Fund. The company has recently completed the acquisition of Positive Life Choices (PLC), a home care business based in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Springfield Homecare is one of the biggest independent home care providers in the Yorkshire and Humberside regions. The acquisition of PLC is the first use of BGF capitalization. The acquisition was financed through two investments totaling GBP4.4 million that was completed before June 2012.
The acquisition adds approximately 2,000 hours of care to Springfield, giving the firm an expanded presence in the North East region as well as growing relationships with new local authorities. The overall employee headcount of Springfield Homecare has increased to 800 and the projected turnover similarly increases to more than GBP13 million per year. Furthermore, there is a potential to expand PLC services to neighboring areas such as Durham, Northumberland, Stockton, Sunderland and neighboring areas.
