"The Big Bang Theory" season 12 will immediately provide answers to last season's biggest cliffhanger, Sheldon and Amy's breakup, as the premiere episode will delve into the truth about the controversial ring. The new season might also see some character development on the part of Mayim Bialik's Amy.
Executive producer Steve Molaro confirmed that season 12 opener will clarify what Sheldon's ring actually means, reports Christian Today. Molaro joined "The Big Bang Theory" writer's panel at the San Diego Comic-Con and assured the fans that they won't wait that long for the big reveal but did not spill any detail other than that.
Mayim Bialik also went to the panel together with Kunal Nayyar, playing Raj in the show, to the delight of the TBBT diehards. Writer Eric Kaplan teased some Amy intel and said that her back story could be tackled in the new season.
"I'd love to know those things as well. We live these characters week to week. You may learn she had a great, great uncle who didn't play by the rules," Kaplan said.
Previously, Mayim Bialik told the Sheldon-Amy fans that they should not jump into any conclusion about the couple's relationship. She personally thinks that her and Jim Parsons' character did not really break up but the two really need some time apart.
Kunal Nayyar on the other hand revealed that all the cast members of the popular CBS sitcom are also being kept under the dark as to how the 12th season will play out. Nayyar mentioned during the panel that they usually receive the script the night before the production starts, making them as clueless as the fans, reports Business Insider.
Fans can somehow breathe a sigh of relief now that last season's major cliffhanger will be addressed right away in the "The Big Bang Theory" season 12 opener. Mayim Bialik will definitely return to the series as Amy and her character's back story may even be tackled. Exciting things are about to drop when the hit CBS series returns this fall.
