Nope, Prometheus 2 will not be set on earth. Reports about director Ridley Scott revealing details about the movie have been proved false. However, 2 new aliens have been confirmed to appear in the movie and Scott says he wants it to be scarier.
Previous reports have been rampant stating that director Scott allegedly revealed details about rometheus 2. These reports stated that Prometheus 2: Hell on Earth is the alleged working title for the movie, and that Scott was not happy with the story of the first movie.
These however, were proved false by recent reports. No, Prometheus 2: Hell on Earth is not the working title and it will not be set on earth. It might reportedly focus on the engineers' home, as Noomi Rapace's Dr. Shaw said in the previous film that she doesn't want to go back to earth because she wants to know where the engineers came from.
Although official and confirmed details are pretty scarce as of the moment as production is still in its early stages, the movie will not include xenomorphs as director Scott does not like the idea of them being in the film. "it's fresh and getting away from gods (engineers) and dragons (xenomorphs) and shit. If I see one more dragon, I'm going to shoot myself. Stop the dragons," Scott said.
But even without the xenomorphs, 2 new aliens will be added to the movie which appear to have a resemblance to xenomorphs, although, they are not exactly xenomorphs. Scott reportedly wants to make the next installment scarier, "The alien's real which is why it's probably one of the scariest monsters in film history. So with Prometheus 2what I'm trying to do is reintroduce a fresher form of alien in the third act." he said.
Aside from that, another confirmed detail of the film is that, it will have three plot lines, and Rapace's Dr. Shaw and Michael Fassbender's David will only be included in one of the three.
Prometheus 2 is written by Michael Green and will be produced by Walter Hill and Ridley Scott. It had been slated for release in March 04, 2016.
