There is a possibility that a Christmas treat is in for fans at theatres in Japan as the fourth and final Evangelion movie "Rebuild of Evangelion" is believed to be released this coming December. Japanese-American singer Utada Hikaru is working on a theme song for the upcoming film.
RELEASE DATE UNDER WRAPS
The said release date for "Rebuild Evangelion", also known as "Evangelion 4.0" or "Evangelion 3.0+1.0", came up after reports that Utada Hikaru was working on a song that is set to be out on winter for the said movie. According Movie News Guide, this could mean then that the new and last Evangelion movie will be shown in theatres on December.
Crunchy Roll reports that Utada Hikaru is on the process of working on a new album after giving birth to a baby boy last July 3. According to their anonymous source, "Right now, Utada is in the middle of working on a new song for the final Evangelion that's scheduled for release in winter of this year."
The Japanese-American Singer was quoted by Idigital Times as saying that if everything will work out smoothly, the album may be released within the year. If not, it may be out in the middle part of 2016. This implies that there is also a possibility that the last Evangelion movie will be out next year yet unless the makers of the movie would opt out the single for the album. Hikaru wrote, sang and arranged the song for "Evangelion 3.0: You Can (Not) Redo" in 2012 entitled Sakura Nagashi.
