It's amazing that the new Spectre film will be the 24th James Bond film in the series. It will be actor Daniel Craig's fourth appearance as the story's main protagonist James Bond against the film's villain Franz Oberhauser played by Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz. Production has kept mum on the film's soundtrack but possible recording artists have recently been linked to perform its main theme song.
Through years of mainstream domination, the James Bond theme songs have been sung by massive names in the music industry including Shirley Bassey, Nancy Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Carly Simon and more modern talents such as Tina Turner, Madonna, Sheryl Crow and Adele. So far, each artist held a piece of the franchise's history.
Who could hold the honor for the latest 'Spectre' film? Numerous sources have already linked several crooners for the soundtrack's main highlight. In an article by The Independent, Ellie Goulding hinted at acquiring the gig when read "Live and let die". This sparked intrigue as the words could be a connection to the 1973 James Bond movie of the same name.
In a separate article by The Daily Mail, Goulding admitted that she was busy recording something new although she continued to stay mum on the whether it was for specifically for 'Spectre'. The 'Love Me Like You Do' hit singer has been working on her third album in the recent weeks.
According to Daily Star, another big name has already signed in for the task. Adele, who already won an Academy Award for her performance in 2012's Skyfall, reportedly gained the go signal from the film's production company Eon Productions. The source said, "Adele was just one of a few artists asked to write and record the title track for Spectre. Sam Smith was the favorite to be picked among insiders but Adele has got the nod."
Director Sam Mendes' 'Spectre' is scheduled to be released on November 6, 2015. It follows the events after Skyfall where Bond follows a dangerous international trail and meets SPECTRE, an enemy organization.
