'Winds of Winter' Update: George RR Martin Meets With Editors, Publishers: Book Released Set Before "Game of Thrones" Season 6

By

World-famous author George R.R. Martin is reportedly meeting book editors, publishers and agents in preparation for the release of his upcoming novel "Winds of Winter". The next installment of his best-selling book series "A Song of Ice and Fire" is speculated to come out next year, before the sixth season of "Game of Thrones" premieres in April.

Four years after the release of "A Dance with Dragons", the sixth installment of George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" appears to be already nearing its long-awaited premiere. The 66-year-old novelist has reportedly set an appointment with some publishing representatives, in preparation for the release of "Winds of Winter".

According to Latin Post, Martin has hinted in his online journal that he is attending a private event next month, writing "So I'm headed east the first week of August... for a wedding, yes, and no, that's private, so you don't get to hear any more about it... but I am going to see my editors and publishers and agents while I am in town, and do some other fun stuff... including a ball game." The outlet predicts that this might be an indication of the sixth installment's completion.

It was noted by Entertainment Weekly that Martin has sacrificed a lot of public appearances to focus on his writing. He even chose to skip the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con which he thought was the "right decision". With this, it is safe to assume that the author may already be in the finishing stage of writing "Winds of Winter".

In line of its completion, it is speculated that the author may be releasing the highly anticipated novel as early as March next year. As per Christian Today's report, this is in accordance to Martin's desire to have the book published before the sixth season of "Game of Thrones" premieres on HBO. It is noted that the series often debuts in late March to mid-April, with April being the most common window. The outlet presumes that the novel will be rolled out to the public not later than mid-March 2016.

These are mere rumors though. No word is out yet regarding the exact release of the book but the fans are hoping that at least its pre-order dates to be set soon.
