Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based TerraSim, has been acquired by The Riverside Company. TerraSim has been added to Riverside's platform of Bohemia Interactive Simulations. Bohemia designs and offers games for training technology and defense interactive simulation systems for emergency and mission critical customers. TerraSim is the supplier of Bohemia of its elite competence in automated terrain generation software for an extremely specialized market. Customers of Bohemia will have the greater advantage on the joint venture of the two as the company increases its platform for expanding both at its present defense markets.
Dr. Martin Scott, Riverside Partner said, "TerraSim builds the world's best terrain generation software." And he adds, "This acquisition accelerates Bohemia's technical capabilities and should open new opportunities for the company." Dr. Scott leads the Riverside's Software and Information Technology specialization in Europe.
Bohemia intends to keep the Pittsburgh office of TerraSim. It will be utilizing existing software, database engineers and management as the integration of the two companies takes place.
