Amanda Knox on being free and innocent

By

In 2007 a murder in Italy surfaced, pointing out Amanda Knox, then 19, as suspect for murdering her roommate Meredith Kercher. Along with Knox was her boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito who was also convicted of the same crime. After eight years of being 'guilty' in the eyes of the people, Amanda Knox was finally exonerated, where she celebrated along with her birthday.

Amanda Knox posted a photo on her Facebook account where she had a wonderful sip of coffee on her birthday, showing the world how it feels again being totally free. In 2007, Knox was alleged of murdering her roommate Meredith Kercher, whom was found dead in their apartment only half-naked and slit throat.

After four years of serving prison in Italy, Amanda Knox and her boyfriend Raffaelle Sollecito were released in 2011. According to Daily Mail UK, Knox returned to the US after her release, where she pursued and finished her degree in Creative Writing.

Then this March, she was exonerated by the highest court of Italy, where the judges found her and Sollecito innocent.

With this event, ABC plans on airing a show which resembles to Amanda Knox's life experience. It has a working title 'Gulit,' where ABC ordered to air in two months. Written by Nichole Millard and Kathryn Price, the series will follow an American student who went to London to study and was 'convicted, acquitted, retried and acquitted again' of murdering her roommate.

According to Karey Bruke of ABC, "'Guilt' is a sophisticated, sexy and suspenseful crime epic that will have audiences captivated week-to-week."

This ABC's plan on relating a TV series to Amanda Knox is not the first time, as Lifetime in 2011 aired a show called 'Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy.' On the A.V. Club's site, it was written that the said show was made even before Knox's judgment day.

'Guilt' will proably be a one-hour TV special, which is being labeled as a mystery show.
