It has been 3 years since Apple last released an iPod unit that lead fans and consumers to think that the series is dead or discontinued. Much to the consumers' surprise, the sixth generation of the iPod, the iPod Touch 6, is now for sale with a price tag of $200 right after the Apple Store's maintenance.

The iPod Touch 6 features both new and old specifications. According to Slash gear, the device looks similar to the iPhone 6 minus the fingerprint scanner.

Gizmag provided a very detailed comparison on the 6th generation against its predecessor 3 years ago. While both devices are comparable on a lot of aspects such as; display screen, dimensions, resolution, and contrast, the iPod Touch 6 can now be supersized to 128 GB. The RAM is now twice as big and the chipset now provides a faster processing power.

With every new Apple product, comes the option for consumers to "jailbreak" the gadget. For those who doesn't what the word "jailbreak" means, here's a quick tour. Jailbreaking is the process of removing restriction on an Apple device's iOS, Apple's operating system, and allowing the device to gain access to applications and services not available on the Apple Store.

According to Valuewalk, since the iPod Touch 6 is run by Apple's A8 chip and run by Apple's iOS, it is now jail breakable. Using soft wares like TaiG tool and PP jailbreak tool, which are available for Windows, the iPod Touch 6 can now be jailbroken and avail free apps and music.

Apple owes the iPod a lot of gratitude. Latinos Post reported that it was the device that outclassed the walkman and discman. It's also the same device that saved Apple from bankruptcy in the past. The iPod was also responsible for countless hours of music at the palm of one's hand.
