Dubai International Capital LLC has hired five executives coming from Deloitte & Touche LLP with the aim to increase the value of its investments in companies such as Mauser AG and Doncasters Group Ltd.
One of the new faces is Richard Clarke and he would be leading the newly established portfolio monitoring group. This group includes work in due diligence reviews on financing, refinancing, sale and bolt on acquisitions. The team would also include former Deloitte Corporate Finance employees Raj Mehta as director and three other senior associates.
The Dubai based private equity firm is owned by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum's investment arm Dubai Holding LLC. The firm was able to reach an agreement to restructure its nearly US$2.5 billion in liabilities. The company was one of the state backed entities that needed to restructure its debt terms after the collapse of Lehman Brothers back in 2008.
The investments of the Sheikh's firm includes the two previously mentioned as well as Almatis GmbH and Och-Ziff Capital Management Group LLC.
