Sprint has rolled out software updates to Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. These flagship Samsung smartphones are now being updated to Android 5.1 Lollipop with Sprint being the first American carrier to implement this Lollipop update by way of over-the-air (OTA).

Sprint-provided Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will now be booting with Android 5.1 Lollipop, bringing it up to software version G920PVPU2BOFE and G925PVPU2BOFE build, respectively. The update is sized at around 563 MB and brings with it some typical bug fixes, IBtimes.com added.

Earlier this year, Samsung started rolling out a brand new version of Lollipop dubbed Android 5.1.1 that delivers what it calls "various bug fixes and enhancements."

Android Pit confirms that the Android 5.1.1. update has just started rolling out internationally, first seen in France. Aside from the usual performance bugs, the Android 5.1.1 update also includes RAW support for the camera and lower ISO values. You'll only be able to make use of these features with a third-party camera app like Camera FV-5 and a gallery app that supports RAW images like Adobe's Lightroom, but the features are definitely there.

Gottabemobile.com added that the Android 5.1.1 update is perhaps the final version of its Lollipop operating system as Google continues to work on its Android M update. For Galaxy owners, this update is a bug-fixer that tackles a couple of ssues and brings added enhancements.

Moreover, Gottabemobile.com reports that Android 5.1.1 problems continue to plague owners of the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S5. A number of complaints about Android 5.1.1 problems rose inside Sprint's forums for the Galaxy S6/Galaxy S6 Edge. These issues range from tethering issues to problems with random reboots. However, authorities found that these problems are extremely isolated. That is to say, a majority of the people that have downloaded these updates are getting good performance from Android 5.1.1.

Just a piece of advice for all Sprint users of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, make sure your battery is charged to at least 50 percent before attempting to download and install the update.
