Curtis Jackson, 40, most popularly known as 50 Cent ditched the blings and fancy cars after filing for bankruptcy last week and testifies in a poverty hearing in Manhattan Supreme Court on Tuesday.
The day after attending the red carpet at the Southpaw NYC Premiere wearing his fancy Dolce and Gabbana's Spring 2015 collection three- piece green satin suit and diamond- embellished watch, 50 Cent chose to down grade his fanciness wearing just a plain gray suit, he seems to prove that he's allegedly suffering from poverty as he heads down to the court for his trial. He eventually told the court that his grandiose living, his expensive cars and Forbes declaration of his $155 million in May was just an illusion. His lawyer, William Brewer, even claimed that his client's net worth is just actually around $US4.4 million and now Curtis is facing a big problem of poverty since last week's fine of $5 million given to Rick Ross's ex- girlfriend, Lastonia Leviston for damages caused after allegedly posting her sex tape on his social media accounts. The worst part is, he never asked permission from her.
Even though the rapper pulled out a few tricks from his sleeves just to prevent him from giving out $US5 million and even laying out his top creditors and liabilities in court just to convince the judge not to pursue the trial, all these tricks didn't work after all since Judge Paul Wooten said to a media coverage, "is traceable primarily to the defendant, who has been on all sorts of media outlets". So the trial pursues this morning, Jackson directly explained his act of grandiosity to the court, according to New York Daily News, he said, "I take the jewelry and cars back to the stores".
When asked about his earnings in the two movies he starred in he said that he just made $100, 000 for both Spy and Southpaw. With regards to his executive production and his hit Starz series, Power, he claimed that he has only made $150,000 for the two seasons he's been on the show. He also added when asked about his 38 million in record sales, "I make ten cents a record".
Inspite all of the drama and problems he has faced, Jackson still managed to give a testimony of apology to Lastonia Leviston, saying, "I'm sorry if you feel like I hurt you". He has also shown concern for his brand since the file of bankruptcy, stating, "Now that I've filed for bankruptcy, I'm not as cool as I was last week".
See how unconsented posting of videos and even photos on social media would cost a person? More than money, it will cost you your dignity.
