'Thor: Ragnarok' actress Jamie Alexander revealed that her character Lady Sif may play a bigger and more vital role in the upcoming film. She also hinted on clues in 'Captain America: Civil War'.
In an interview with Los Angeles Times, Alexander hinted that there may be more to Lady Sif than audiences know. Although she didn't elaborate on any details, she did confirm a pivotal turn in the status of her character. When asked about the Asgardian warrior's fate in the third film she said, "Marvel, I think on purpose, they don't tell me certain things... But I do know I will be in "Thor 3" and that Sif will have a very pivotal part in that movie. I just can't tell you what because I'll get shot."
She also revealed that there are several clues regarding the upcoming film that are scattered in other Marvel projects. She said, "Yeah, there's a lot of great stuff they've peppered in through "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," "The Avengers," "Captain" will have some stuff. There's just all kind of Easter eggs and hints, if you're really paying attention. They're so good at interweaving everything throughout those films. "
According to Movie News Guide, the recent 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' may have showed that "seed" when Thor saw himself in Hel, Asgard's version of the underworld and was blamed for causing death and destruction in the home of the Norse gods.
Lady Sif is Thor's childhood friend and ally. In the Marvel comic books, Lady Sif was also his lover and often accompanied him in his battles. As an Asgardian warrior, she has superhuman abilities matching her male counterparts and is said to be the best female fighter in the realm.
According to Cinema Blend, it would be absolutely interesting if 'Thor: Ragnarok' would explore her backstory and relationship with Thor more deeply. It might even give the franchise the extra spice it needs. Details remain scarce since creative teams are still focusing on the more imminent 'Captain America: Civil War' film.
