Silicon Valley Venture Capitalist Confidence Index Rising

By

The Silicon Valley Venture Capitalist Confidence Index is conducting an on-going survey of San Francisco/Silicon Valley venture capital firms. The index is intended to measure and then report the professional opinions of venture capitalists and their preductions as to high growth potentials in the current area for the next three years.

The first index was conducted during the first quarter of 2013 after a survey of thirty San Francisco Bay Area venture capitalists. The index scored 3.73 on a 5 point scoring scale, with 5 being the highest and 1 being the lowest. The 2013 first quarter index was an increase from the 2012 fourth quarter index reading of just 3.63.

The major concerns for those surveyed include the moribund share exit market, current fundraising issues and challenges in a recession and the structural shifts in the venture industry. These three factors significantly affected the future expectations of the industry instead of just the current conditions. There is stong belief hough that the future outcomes of the industry lay on the shoulders on the talent in Silicon Valley/San Francisco Bay that maximize possible opportunities at every step.
