"The Flash" season 2 will be featuring some new and exciting things in when it premieres this October on CW. Barry Allen will be donning a new suit created by Cisco Ramon in the new season. He'll also get a new love interest as other speedsters arrive. Meanwhile, actor Robbie Amell is reportedly not returning for the sophomore season.
Inquisitr reported that the next season of "The Flash" will see a new suit for Grant Gustin's character, revealed during the show's panel at San Diego Comic-Con. There won't be a drastic change but the logo will be similar to the one in the comics. It now has a white and gold touch to it with a few high-tech upgrades made by Cisco Ramon, played by Carlos Valdes.
The site also reported that the new season may see the exit of Robbie Amell due to other commitments. Amell, joined the CW series as Firestorm/Ronnie Raymon but might leave the show to star as a special agent in "The X-Files" reboot on Fox. However, despite his departure, his character will still exist in the DC TV universe, specifically in the upcoming "Arrow" and "The Flash" spinoff. The new man behind Firestorm will be Jay Jackson, which will be played by Franz Drameh.
Barry Allen will also be joined by new speedsters when the show returns, according to Comic Book. Jay Garrick, Barry's counterpart on Earth 2, will appear on Earth 1 along with Wally West, which will become Barry's successor. But new superheroes in town means new villains as well since Zoom, Garrick's arch nemesis will also appear in the series and is reportedly deadlier than the Reverse Flash.
The site also mentioned the new love interest of Grant Gustin's character in season 2. Shantel VanSanten will be playing Patty Spivot in the series as the new addition to Central City's Police Department. Comic Book described her as spunky, tech-minded, and is also into science. Bad news for her though, as the Biris fans will not stop shipping Barry and Iris despite Patty's arrival.
One of the many speculations for the sophomore season is the possible inclusion of Tom Welling's Superman in the story, which we previously reported. Fans of Smallville will surely lose it when this happens especially since they never got to see Welling in full costume.
The second season of "The Flash" will see a new love interest for Barry, new costume, new speedsters, and villains as the story adopts the Multiverse in the comics. The hit CW series is slated to premiere on October 6 at 8 PM.
