Avril Lavigne Updates: From Lyme disease to Special Olympics, the Canadian Rockstar ends triumphant

Avril Lavigne is still being treated for Lyme disease; though, this has not stopped her for being of service. The Canadian-French Singer currently performed at the opening ceremony of Special Olympics World Games 2015 with her new inspirational single "Fly."

ESPN has reported the improvement that commencing with the rockstar, Avril Lavigne and her battle with Lyme disease. She recently became a part of the Special Olympics World Games 2015 opening ceremony on July 25, 2015 in Los Angeles and sang her new single "Fly," an inspirational song and part of the official soundtrack of this year's event. Avril Lavigne also reiterated that working with kids having disabilities is something really close to her heart.

Avril Lavigne is very keen on helping children with disabilities and that she wanted to uplift them. The rockstar is also very happy to be working in this Special Olympics World Games 2015 bringing kids closer to her and believing to 'just reach up and don't give up,' Times of India shared.

The rockstar admitted that she has stricken of Lyme disease while on tour and it affected her and her career in most ways for she has reportedly bed ridden for about five months. According to Yahoo! Health, Lyme disease can be transmitted through ticks and can be transferred to people when they are bitten by bacterium-infected ticks. It can usually be gotten in grassy and wooded areas and that is often unnoticed because ticks are tiny and usually unfelt when reach the skin. The more that these ticks are attached to the individual's skin, the more the risk of the disease to develop.

Avril Lavigne is on her way through recovery and still very happy that she gets to serve especially for the children. Inspiring them is one of the best things that she is delighted about.
