Aubrey McClendon, the ousted CEO of Chesapeake Energy is not resting one bit from the game. Now, he has launched a new venture, American Energy Partners to realize his strengths in fundraising and purchasing properties.
The man is a proven empire builder as seen in the rise of Chesapeake Energy from its financially beleaguered past to become one of the most succesful energy trading businesses inthe world. Now, he is again at it, trying to build an empire from the ground up. He has a head start, emailing contacts throughout the industry, which reads as:
"Good day to you! I have started a new E&P company, American Energy Partners, LP, and I am interested in being contacted regarding onshore US assets. My goal is to build a substantial E&P company both through the drillbit and through acquisitions of producing properties.
In particular, I will be looking for deals with a lot of drilling left on them and will also consider undeveloped acreage deals - plus, I am not scared of natural gas.
Thanks, Aubrey"
This means there are jobs awaiting a proven man who has committed a few mistakes a long the way. He has the contacts and the commitments, just the infrastructure needs to be built around him.
