‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’ Updates: Features Improved Resolution, Game Background and Settings

Ever since "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" was featured during the E3 conference in Los Angeles last June, game fans have been eagerly awaiting for more updates about game. And now, Naughty Dog has shared a few of the enhancements and improvements made, along with the game's background and settings.

In an interview with SKNR.net, Naughty Dog's Community Strategist, Arne Meyer, shared a few information about the upcoming game "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End." It seems that the developers have made a lot of improvements to the game, which included an increased PS4 resolution of 1080p, more advanced shader techniques, increased polygon count, along with new and expanded gameplay mechanics. Meyers added that even "cinematic trailers are now rendered in real time."

In terms of game locale, Meyers said that the team has identified Madagascar, although there will be various locations all throughout the game. Multiplayer mode will also be in "Uncharted 4" but Meyers mentioned that gamers would have to "wait a bit longer before we are ready to reveal more." When asked about the game's enemy AI, Meyers declined to comment but reassured fans that it is one of the areas where the team will apply learnings from previous "Uncharted" titles, including "The Last of Us."

Aside from game enhancements, Meyers also spoke about the game's background, stating that "Uncharted 4" will bring Nathan Drake, who retired from fortune hunting, back into that adventurous world to help his long lost brother Sam. The game character will be tasked to go on a quest to search for Libertalia and Henry Avery's pirate fortune.

The game's developers also promised an epic final chapter for the game character Nathan Drake. During an interview with Gamespot last month, Naughty Dog's lead designer Kurt Margenau said: "[Druckmann and Bruce Straley], our directors, they have a vision [for Uncharted 4]. We are fulfilling that vision and it's going to be awesome. It's Nathan Drake's final chapter, so I think fans are going to be happy."

Meanwhile, earlier in June, IGN reported that during an investor call, Sony revealed that "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will be released before the company's 2015 fiscal year comes to a close, which ends March 31, 2016.

"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" is expected to be released on PS4, sometime March 2016.
