‘Wayward Pines’ Season 2: Possible plot sees Ben, Hassler take down David Pilcher’s statue

There is still no official announcement confirming "Wayward Pines" season 2 but the demand for it remains evident following its lauded 10-episode first season. Plot speculations for its sophomore season are already swirling online, which includes an uprising led by Ben Burke and Adam Hassler.

Ever since Executive Producer M. Night Shyamalan admitted that he and Blake Crouch talked about the possibility of pursuing the next chapters of "Wayward Pines," fans of its small screen adaptation and the book series as well speculated about the possible plot of season 2.

According to Vine Report, speculations include a rebellion to be led by Charlie Tahan's Ben, son of Matt Dillon's character, who saw his demise in the first season along with many other major characters. This prediction was based on the final scene of episode 10 titled, "Cycle," where Ben woke up from a three-year coma only to realize that a new community has been risen by the "First Generation." Jason Higgins has been appointed as the new town sheriff and the people all worship David Pilcher's giant statue.

The report furthered that Ben could start an uprising against the inhumane system of the town which was blindly accepted by the people under Higgin's control. Another speculation claims that Tim Griffin's Adam Hassler could be the center of the new season of the series continues.

Even showrunner Chad Hodge also sees Ben taking the role of a leader but he is quick to clarify that talks about the season 2 of the Fox series remains unofficial.

"Maybe he will be able to change things. Or, maybe this is the way things should be," Hodge told The Hollywood Reporter. "What Ben does and how he responds will be up to your imagination to decide. There is no official season 2 yet. No talks yet. Nothing to report on that front."

Fox and the showrunners still have not confirmed if "Wayward Pines" season 2 is really going to happen but predictions like Ben sparking a revolution or Adam Hassler taking the lead could be a good starting point if the show continues.
