Deftones is ready to release their newest album, but won't be playing it live on their gigs. The alternative metal band has been touring along with Incubus, and they definitely still give fans what they want from these bands. In their recent concert, one fan was chosen by Deftones front man Chino Moreno to sing with him on stage to perform 'Passenger.'

Deftones' latest album following 'Koi No Koyan' is ready to be released on its tentative date, September 25. The CD, produced by Matt Hyde (Children of Bodom, Winds of Plague, Slayer, Monster Magnet), has 16 tracks, according to Blabbermouth. Chino Moreno, lead vocalist of the band said that there will be a special participation of Alice in Chains' lead guitarist Jerry Cantrell.

There is no word about the title of the Deftones' new album, but all Moreno had said about it was "The songs are amazing, and we wrote them in a really cool way. The songs are really built as a collective. We have five guys who have almost completely different takes on music, so when it works, it works great."

However, Deftones will not play any track from their new album. "We contemplated a bit, we talked about it. But with, you know, Youtube and things like that, it's like, by the time people hear the real recorded version, a live version recorded on someone else's camera phone will be people's idea of what our new record sounds like," the band's front man said.

Deftones, on the other hand, has been touring around the US along with Incubus to promote 'White Pony,' Deftones' highest grossing album so far.

A fan definitely had one great night when he was called out from the audience by Chino Moreno. On July 29th in Toronto, one fan was holding up a sign if he could go on stage with Moreno and perform with him, and the Deftones vocalist invited him.

Moreno and the fan sang 'Passenger' where the fan sung the part of Maynard James Keenan (Tool).
