Netflix still has not given "Sense8" season 2 a go but that does not stop the online speculations about the show's future from circulating. One of the most prominent news about the show is it was planned to run for five seasons and co-creator J. Michael Straczynski finally spoke about it.
Straczynski recently attended Netflix's presentation at the Television Critics Association Press Tour and answered several questions about the hit sci-fi series, reports IGN.
The sci-fi series earned mostly positive response from the viewers for its ambitious first season and for tackling issues about gender, sexuality, and identity. With the kind of attention that the show has gotten, it is kind of odd that there's still no news on "Sense8" Season 2.
"Sense8" diehards have been waiting for its renewal ever since the first season ended but until now, Netflix has not announced anything. But every day, even the showrunners themselves are waiting for the Internet streaming giant's decision.
"We're still awaiting word," Straczynski said. "We're in the process. We're waiting for a final determination. We're cautiously optimistic, but ultimately it's Netflix's call."
Deadline wrote that Straczynski also clearly addressed the reports surfacing online that he and the Wachowskis has a five- year plan for the sensates.
"Heck, No! But we're a long game kind of people. For ourselves, for the writing, we have to figure out where all this pays off. Season 1 is obviously about origins," the co-creator explained.
We previously reported the possible reasons that cause the delay of "Sense8" Season 2. Fans of the show have been immune to waiting but Netflix may still be considering a lot of things they release an official announcement.
J. Michael Straczynski finally clarified the reports that "Sense8" will run for five seasons. Although he and the Wachowskis already planned the sensates future, they are not certain about how long will it run, especially since Netflix still has not confirmed its second season.
