'X-Men: Apocalypse' will feature the new superhero Psylocke to be played by Olivia Munn. The actress teased her fighting skills in a recent social media post and talked about her character's provocative costume.

According to Nerdist, Munn, who will be playing Betsy Braddock a.k.a. Psylocke in the upcoming movie, recently posted a video on her Instagram account showing off some of her kick fighting skills. In the video she is seen in sparring with a trainer seemingly to give life to her comic book character's deadly martial arts prowess.

Fans of the purple haired superhero will be treated to a character ripped straight from the comic books - with Munn squeezed into a provocative latex body suit. The actress recently talked about her outfit in an article by Entertainment Weekly.

She said, "I've got like my thigh-highs and a halter, but the thing about that, and that was important, is that it doesn't matter what I'm wearing as long as we're all aware of who she is. She's very strong and she's very lethal and she's very powerful, and it doesn't really matter what she's wearing as long as you have that strength and that presence." She admitted that there were some instances wherein she went through some fashion faux pas on set.

Munn's character is a new addition to the film franchise's 'X-Men' ensemble although she's long been featured in a series of Marvel comic books. Betsy Braddock is the twin of Brian Braddock a.k.a. Captain Britain. She went on to become Psylocke, a mutant with telepathic skill. After a 'body transfer', her powers changed considerably and she gained her 'psychic knife' as well as martial arts abilities.

Munn will join the set of fresh faces slated to debut in 'X-Men: Apocalypse'. According to Den of Geek, the newcomers include Tye Sheridan as Scott Summers a.k.a. Cyclops, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Alexandra Shipp as Ororo Munroe a.k.a. Storm and Lana Condor as Jubilation Lee a.k.a. Jubilee. Oscar Isaac will be playing the ancient mutant antagonist Apocalypse. Director Bryan Singer wanted to portray the famous X-Men as their younger selves set against a 1980s timeline.

'X-Men: Apocalypse' is the ninth installment in the 'X-Men' franchise and is intended as a sequel for 2014's 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'. It is scheduled for release on May 27, 2016.
