One has to face consequences upon the commitment of unlawful acts. Dr. Walter Palmer, U.S. dentist is facing charges from illegally killing Cecil, the lion in Zimbabwe on July 1st. Authorities are studying the case of Dr. Palmer while concerned citizens are expressing their grief in the death of Cecil.
Time reported that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is urging for the death of Dr. Walter Palmer because he violated the animal welfare. The president of PETA, Ingrid Newkirk said, "He needs to be extradited, charged, and, preferably, hanged." Ingrid was referring to Walter to face death too as the innocent animal was killed in his hands.
Bob Barker also commented on the issue of the killed lion. He wanted Walter Palmer to be killed as a punishment of what he did to Cecil, according to TMZ. He added that Dr. Palmer might have been possessing a personality defect that Bob Barker compared to a criminal. It is known that Bob has been a supporter of animal rights and belongs to groups that conserve animal welfare.
On the other hand, patients of Dr. Walter Palmer protested of what he did on the famous lion in Zimbabwe. As a sign of protest, they placed animal stuff toys in front of the doctor's clinic in Bloomington Minnesota, International Business Times reported.
In the same way, The Independent News, reported, "160,000 people signed the petition to extradite Walker Palmer." The petition would like to urge Secretary of State John Kerry and Attorney General Lotetta Lynch towards extradition of Dr. Walter.
In this regard, previous news stated that the government of United Sates and the government of Zimbabwe have Extradition Treaty. It entails the surrender of a fugitive in the country or state where the offense happened to face trial and punishment.
At the moment, the Dr. Walter Palmer's case is up to the Department of Justice in cooperation with the government of Zimbabwe for the decision of his conviction, The independent News reported.
