The globe's largest money manager, Blackrock has been confirmed by the Generali chairman as to own 2.8% of the insurer from Italy. Generali Chairman Gabriele Galateri spoke at the shareholder's meeting held in Trieste, Italy.
After Blackrock, other shareholders owning stakes above 2% include Mediobanca having 13.238% and CDP, the Italian strategic fund with 4.482%. Other shareholders include, Deposit and Loan bank with 4.48, Del Vecchio with 2.99%, De Agostini with 2.48%, Caltagirone with 2.28% and Effeti with 2.15.
Previously, Blackrock owned 1.04% of the company. The company had not previously determined the ranking of its shareholders.
The determination of block shares is essential as the annual shareholder meeting of Generali is being held now. The determinations would help in voting shares for issues discussed in the company, such as the confirmation of sales of BSI and Generali USA as well as other restructuring programs being undertaken under the aegis of the current CEO.
