Samsung is currently prepping up for a battle to combat its bitter rival Apple this coming August 13. The Korean based giant will be revealing their flagship smartphone Galaxy Note 5 and virtual reality device Gear VR.
Inquisitor reported that come August 13, Samsung will be coming in full speed to formally launch the Galaxy Note 5 and Gear VR with the hopes to give the Cupertino-based Apple a good battle in the tech arena.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will boast an octa core processor and will be equipped with an upgraded 4GB RAM and a 5MP secondary front camera. It will also keep its outstanding 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution screen.
On the other hand, Samsung's virtual reality device will also have the same resolution which will also be launched on the 13th. However, tech experts are hoping that Samsung Gear VR will have the 4K resolution since the 2560 x 1440 is not quite ideal for the virtual reality device because of its screen door effect.
Prior to the upcoming release, Forbes reported that images of the Galaxy Note 5 were leaked together with the phone's specs. The leaked information of the Galaxy Note 5 suggests that the phablet will have the Exynos 7420 processor and will run on Google's Android 5.1.1.
In related news, Samsung recently announced that they will be cutting the prices of their Galaxy S6, S6 Edge due to poor performance in the market. AppleInsider reported that Samsung will cut around 100 Euros, or 110 US Dollars, to compensate the company's loss in their mobile device arm.
Samsung went down by billions of dollars in profit losses because of poor performance of their previous flagship mobile devices, particularly, their smartphones and phablets.
Industry experts suggested for Samsung to abandon the high-end customers and focus more on the low and mid-range of the market to make way for their losses. They also suggested for Samsung to introduce a cheaper mobile devices and phablets so they can rebound from the slump.
