Quantum Break has fallen way, way behind schedule. Remedy Entertainment is asked of when the release date will be, as well as why the delay became so. Fans are still waiting as to what the developers have to say, and Gamescom may just be the answer to the said questions.
With only days away to go before the actual GamesCom event, the time may have come for the developers of Quantum Break. The time-defiant RPG has been rumored to be released this year, and all the speculations and rumors may be coming to an end.
As reported by IGN, a fan asked via Twitter if Microsoft is to announce a solid release date for Quantum Break anytime soon. It turned out as somewhat a tease as they responded, "You'll see on Tuesday(August 5, 2015). I think you'll be happy."
The original release plan for Quantum Break was for 2015. However, it was drastically moved to 2016. To further make sense out of the statement, Shannon Loftis, Microsoft Head of Publishing stated that it was during those particular periods that the "strongest games lineup in Xbox history" were already on the verge of exposure, such as Halo 5: Guardians, Forza Motorsport 6, Fable Legends, Rise of the Tomb Raider , and Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.
According to Game Spot, Loftis claimed, "With so many games launching this year, moving Quantum Break to 2016 extends our incredible portfolio into next year with a monster new IP." This was mentioned at the time that Loftis was asked of the reason for delay of the game, as it has been a while since the last announcement.
There are also speculations of Quantum Break having a rendition in the form of a television series. Xbox Entertainment Studios disclosed that it is currently being worked on after last year's affirmed declaration. In a Vg247 report, the much-awaited probable release date announcement will be discussed at Microsoft's Gamescom briefing dated August 5, 2015. The said conference will start at 7 AM PDT or 10 AM EDT.
Quantum Break developer Remedy Entertainment defined the game to be the"ultimate Remedy game." Other games such as Alan Wake and the popular Max Payne are also under the same development company.
