ARC Entertainment has recently acquired the U.S. rights to "Chloe & Theo", a comedy drama which is due to star "Fifty Shades of Grey" actress Dakota Johnson. The upcoming film is slated to open in cinemas on September 4.

Prior to the release of the highly anticipated sequel "Fifty Shades Darker", Anastasia Steele actress Dakota Johnson is set to appear first in the drama flick "Chloe & Theo". ARC Entertainment's head of acquisitions, Scott Moesta, has announced that it has officially acquired the U.S. rights of the 25-year-old star's latest movie. The studio has set the film for a September 4 release.

According to the Movie News Guide, the film follows Theo, an Inuit man from the Artic who goes to the busy city of New York. He aims to warn the world leaders about the disastrous effect of global warming on the planet. He unexpectedly meets Chloe, a bit delusional homeless lady who has an obsession with the legendary martial artist, Bruce Lee. Despite their different personalities, the two join forces to save the world.

Johnson will play the role of Chloe, opposite to newcomer Theo Ikummaq who will portray Theo. Apart from the two, the film also stars Larry King and Mira Sorvino ("Norma Jean & Marilyn"). It is produced by Monica Ord, who also executive produced the film with Virgin Group founder Sir Richard Branson and Patron and Paul Mitchell founder John Paul DeJoria. The deal was negotiated on Monday by ARC's Moesta and Arctica Films' Ord on behalf of the filmmakers.

Accroding to Moesta, the "Chloe & Theo" is a "very powerful, heartwarming story" of saving the world, with "stellar" performances from its lead actors. "We are absolutely thrilled to be distributing this film on the big screen and various platforms for fans across the U.S. to enjoy," he announced.

Meanwhile, some of the studio's recent releases include "Field of Lost Shoes" starring Jason Isaacs and Lauren Holly; "Autumn Blood" starring Sophie Lowe and Peter Stormare; and "A Little Game" starring Ralph Macchio and Janeane Garofalo.
