Ray Rice Considers Himself a Rehabilitating Man after Domestic Violence Scandal

Ray Rice, a former Baltimore Ravens running back has been involved in domestic violence last year when a video of him hitting his then-fiancé surfaced around the internet that caused him his NFL career. He claims that he has changed his ways, undergoing counselling and speaking against domestic violence.

In an ESPN Interview, he says he understands that people may never forgive him for what happened but is hoping that in time, he will fully change his ways, given that now he considers himself a rehabilitating man. Being part of a world where everyone is following your every move, being involved in domestic violence has definitely created a huge setback for the player. He even considered suicide months after the incident happened, but eventually shrugged off the thought.

The player is still keeping in contact with his co-players I the team, remaining hopeful to one day be back with them. He was being charged with third degree aggravated assault over the incident in Feb 2014. Due to this, he was suspended from the first two games of the season and was able to avoid jail time when he attended a pre-trial intervention program, according to Sports Illustrated. According to Rice, domestic violence is a serious issue in society today and what he did was so little compared to the real thing. He assures that victim of this abuse will not be taken for granted.

As reported by TMZ, Rice is now free to be signed by any NFL team, but no one has taken him yet. He has been seen working out daily in Connecticut in preparation for his come back when the time is right. He is companied by some of his supporters and some of his past coaches. There have been new contracts open but so far, there has been only little interest in taking him in.

The famous player has definitely learned his lesson on the incident that happened. He has been making amends and is very hopeful that he will soon come back into his world, being the changed man that he is.
