CBS ventures with another superhero series after The Flash and Arrow this coming October 26, as the network premiers its latest TV series - Supergirl. Superman's cousin tasked to protect the then infant Kor-El arrives on Earth at a later time with Superman all grown-up. Watch Mellisa Benoist star in this latest series as she portrays CBS latest and first female heroin.
Collider reveals the plot of the upcoming series. CBS introduces Supergirl as Kara Zor-el (portrayed by Melissa Benoist - Marley Rose in Glee) as the 12-years-old cousin of the then infant Superman (Kor-El) who escaped at the same time as he did from the doomed planet Krypton to planet Earth. She was tasked to protect her infant cousin Kor-El but a wormhole seized her making her arrive on Earth years after, when his infant cousin is already The Superman.
Screenrant added that Zor-el by this time Superman, leaves Kara to her foster family, the Danvers. Living a normal life, the now 24-years-old Kara works as an assistant of the cruel Cat Grant (portrayed by Calista Flockhart- Ally McBeal in Ally McBeal) when her foster sister Alex is in danger and Kara just have the instinct to save her.
Alex who then works for Hank Henshaw at a super-secret agency fighting crimes and even aliens whose ship crashed on Earth for unknown reasons convinced Kara to be a part of the team and this is where the quest of Kara to becoming a superhero begins.
To season further Supergirl, Lucy Lane (portrayed by Jenna Dewan-Tatum) is rumoured to to come out. Lucy Lance is the alter-ego of Superwoman, but THR as reported by Screenrant said that Lucy will come out not as Superwoman right away but as her non powered side to not over shadow the budding Supergirl. Chris Browning on the other hand is reported to be Ben Krull, the super-Villain Reactron in Supergirl.
Being the cousin of Superman, Supergirl also exhibits the same superstrength, bullet-proofed physique and laser eyes but the show's writers make Kara a likeable, relatable lead in a modern setting. This is what Screenrant sees to be the charm that would get more audience to watch.
This newest hero series of CBS airs every Monday after its premier on October 26.
