Apple iPad 4 Mini Details Leaked: Should Come with Thinner and Lighter Design

By

Apple was reported to have introduced its new lineup of devices to be released in fall this year, including the new iPad mini 4. However, all this was first plagued with leaks from various websites, especially that Apple was rumored to have made many changes from its predecessor.

According to the leak sources, the rumored iPad Mini 4 is said to have new features and improvements over its predecessor that is the iPad Mini 3 and is believed to be in par with the larger-screened iPad Air 2.

Some of the leaks included is a light ultra-thin body and a design similar to that of the iPad 2. The iPad Mini 4 measures about 134.75 mm wide, 203.16 mm in length, and only 6.1mm thick.

It comes with a variety of ports and controls on each side. A sleep/wake button as well as an audio jack rest at the top of the device, while a single line of speaker grille can be found at the bottom. On the right side of the device, there are the volume control and the SIM card slot.

A USB Type-C port is also rumored to be thrown in somewhere and it is thought to be a reversible port. This feature should fix the major annoyances that many have with the regular USB port since it would allow users to connect other devices regardless of its orientation.

Last but not the least, the new iPad mini 4 will be preinstalled with Apple's iOS 9, which supports split-view mode. This feature is useful for displaying two apps side-by-side on the same screen, and is noted to work fine on iPad Air 2.

Apple is expected to make an official announcement in time of the release of iPhone 6s this September. However, it is also possible that they could announce the iPad Mini 4 a month later if not on the same date.
